And how much playing time do y'all see him getting? We need some leadership back there.

Really think he is the missing piece to changing this D from ok to elite. He will clear up the missed assignments and provide exceptional coverage over the slot.

It would probably be too much to expect him to greatly impact the game on the field in his first action (although that would be great).

I would guess he will certainly impact overall morale and spirit. The team -DBs in particular- will be psyched that he's dressed out and getting action.

I feel like offenses have went at Dwyane thomas and Jefferson the most on 3rd downs with long fields. I think we should see that being helped out alot. I expect we will see Mills in alot of 3rd down situations through the game sat.

This. Thomas should not be the "shadow" on opposing teams' best WRs either. His man coverage skills just aren't there.

Great to have Mills back. Gotta think we will have less coverage busts. Possibly more blitzing.

Will he take over his safety duties or will he take DT nickel position? I ask this because....

1. Rickey Jefferson has been balling out except for that one play when he was on Cooper(which was bad coaching) and Cooper had a nice reception.

2. Thomas is HORRIBLE in coverage. Idk if it is the play calling or he is scared to fully commit on that leg or what but he has left a lot to be desired in the nickle.

I used to think this about Mills and Collins in 2013 when they were getting burned by Bama. Of course Mills was much younger then.
I don't like to dog any of our players, but I hope Mills gets a lot of playing time this week - hopefully he can really solidify this backfield.

I expect a huge difference in the quality of our defense. Mills playing allows us a chance for an additional person rushing the passer or keying on the run. Mills coverage skill is much better then Thomas in the slot.

Big addition to our defense!! BIG TIME MOTIVATOR ON THE FIELD.
