Anyone actually know?
Anybody who has ever been involved in hiring / firing an LSU HC knows th story of when LSU fired homegrown La. favorite Jerry Stovall:
Stovall lost all SEC games, went 4-7 (was 22-21 overall). AD Tried to fire him.
BOS And La. politics got involved and firing Stovall became very difficult.
The highlight: The AD was called in public meeting before BOS and BOS member ( former Gov. McKeithen) threatened th AD and school for 45 minutes. Notably, Big John McK. Promised the administration that if it fired Stovall it would have a hard time getting appropriations for LSU generally from the legislature.
F. King repeated this prospect last fall when Miles was almost fired.
GOtta wonder how much this political threat, and F. king's fear of it, influenced the HC decision...
Local politics can destroy a program.

We're going to destroy football because of going cheap to prove to the state that we're hurting financially. I've never seen such a bullshite reaction to budget cuts. F King Alexander wants to send a message and he knows it will be received the clearest via LSU football. I want Alexander and Alleve to GTFO.

I didn't support Da Coach O for HC, but I hope he proves me very wrong.
However, if he turns into a 7-4 coach or worse, LSU will have the same problems canning him as they did with Stovall. For the same reasons.
By then F. KIng will be a memory at LSU.
