I am able to watch it on ESPN3 on my phone but I can't watch it on ESPN3 on roku.

Explain this.

What's it matter if it's on CST? I can still watch on my phone. The app and the roku app are the same thing. Why does one allow it and the other doesn't?

It's a valid question. Disregard the idiots up in here.

Blacked out in this region.
Need hotspot shield installed on computer or tablet.
Not sure how roku works though.

Could be that you have a VPN set up on your phone making it look like you're out of the blackout area.

To make it even more odd, my wife can't watch it on her kindle fire even when she's using the same login credentials as I am using on my phone. She gets the same blackout message that comes up on roku.

What is the VPN and how can I adjust it to allow it to work on roku and the kindle?

I has to turn off location services and disconnect from WiFi just to get it on my phone. Then in the top of the 7th it froze and I haven't been able to get it back yet.

Virtual private network. Sorta of a software hack for your IP address. A phone thing only...as far as I know.

ETA: Not a phone thing only... computers other devices, but no idea about a roku, Apple tv etc

The app has problems detecting the network location off the phone. I hook my fire stick/ipad etc to my phone hotspot and have no problem watching on them.
