Edit: I recommend Hotel ICON. Very nice place, right on rail line, near Market Square Park and many very nice bars in DT.

That's where we're staying. I know several other LSU fans that are staying there as well.

Downtown Houston isn't generally hopping on the weekends, but that weekend will be quite different because of the people who are there. I think whoever has some really good specials will pack em in.

I went out in Downtown for the first time in a while that didn't revolve around Flying Saucer this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised. There is a nice little collection of bars at the Preston stop.

Find the $10 bucket specials, or 2 for 1 all day happy hour deals (for example) and that is where you will find the drunk cajuns.

Pub Fiction is one of the Aggie bars but their game is on Thursday. Celtic Garden, Little Woodrows and Dogwood would be good options too. Lot's of TV's to watch the days games as well.

Flying Saucer

We ended up moving to the Magnolia once they announced the gameday tailgate restrictions (or, at least once I read them) and moved to the Magnolia just across the street for this very reason.

we figure, worst case scenario we can spend Friday night and Saturday drinking good beer.
