Know it's only the first game of the Eaux era, but damn that was fun to watch.

Other threads similar to this have already been posted, but man after years of stale offensive bread Saturday's game against Mizzou was a nice fresh brioche of Tiger exquisiteness. MIGHTY TASTY!!!

Been reading every article I can find about the game and found these among other posts.

One really summed up in one sentence what many of the Tiger faithful felt about the direction of the LSU program the last few years:

"Making so much progress in a week also paints a clear picture of how screwed up things were in the first place."

And then Hobbs more than adequately reflects on the new and improved LSU team:

"But say this for the debut of the Ed Orgeron era: LSU football was dang well fun again.
Not just watchable.
Not just serviceable.
Not just good enough to hold on against an outmanned opponent.
It was rollicking and frolicking and several small-town festivals rolled into one."

"This is what it looks like when kids were having fun running all over the field instead of beating their heads against a wall all night."

EXACTLY - I was talking with my kids over the weekend and said almost precisely the same things.

Over the past five years, LSU football became hard to watch. Even when we won, the old feelings of joy were missing.

My first game in Tiger Stadium was LSU v NC in 1948 = Y.A. Tittle vs Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice. As a 10 yr old, I was more taken with the "Choo Choo" name than Y.A. but fell in love with Tiger Stadium and LSU football on the spot. Thru the years I have witnessed unbelievable highs and endured bad stretches but always looked forward to the next game. Last year, there were times I was not really interested in what/who/how we played next.

I am excited again - win or lose, this is FUN!!!

My first game was 1961 -- you are making me feel young

Love Coach O and I hope he gives em Hell - Being able to pass the ball over the 8 in a box in the Swamp is what I am looking for. I know this staff already is game planning to take what the Gator D gives them. I lost all faith in Les/Cam in doing that !

My first game was Hardin Simmons in 1958. I was 12. I got spoiled with an undefeated, NChampionship. Been through the ups and downs, but always a Tiger.

I think Coach O brings the pride, enthusiasm, and energy to be successful. With the right staff, he can be the man. Here's to a long reign of Purple Reign.
