I'd hate it too if it were about a Mediterranean dish called couscous, thank God it's encompasses all things Louisiana like coush coush. But you're right, yelling STTDB is way cooler and such a better representation of Louisiana's two biggest loves, Cajun food/heritage and LSU football.

I love it but probably because I've been hearing it since 1960 when I started going to games. Tradition baby. Like white jerseys and night games.

My favorite cheer was the Ole Miss fans who yelled "Suck that Black Bear dick, bitch" at our fans after beating us. As much as I hate those people and hate losing to them, I think it was great that they took that stupid shite and threw it back in our faces.

Hot Boudin! Cold Coush Coush! Come on Tigers, Poosh! Poosh! Poosh!

It's an LSU tradition, just like yelling, Tiger Bait!

It's as LSU as the Chinese Bandit song: see below.

Here's one my mom (RIP) told me was popular in the 30's-50's:

Chew tobacco, chew tobacco
Spit it on the wall,
Tulane, Tulane
Can't play ball

One of the things I love about college football is tradition. This is part of LSU's just like night games, tailgating, Tiger Stadium, etc.

I'll take my chances with that cheer over the unimaginative vulgar crap that comes out of the student section anyday because if those cheers are your idea of what encompasses Louisiana, LSU, and Cajun culture then things are worse than we all thought. The "new generation" of fans spend so much time knocking the older generation of fans and the REAL traditions of LSU, it's a cultural cheer that most people in Louisiana like, as well as visiting fans who think cheering about boudin is awesome.
