I appreciate everything about this guy on and off the court. His recent comments about the team were right on point and honest. Got to thinking, upon graduation, JJ should keep him as a grad assistant coach. He seems to have the makeup as a basketball junkie, old leadership skills as a future coach.

I'm sure he is going to try and play pro ball somewhere overseas first then if he has a desire come back and be a grad assistant. Problem is Johnny might not be here when he makes that decision.

Real high motor guy, I hear he's the first one in and the last one out every day. He's a scrappy player, that's for sure.

This I love how it is ok to basically say a white guy has no athletic ability but if you say he works really hard and studies the game it is not racist. Even tho Hornsby probably has more natural athleticism than anybody on the team not named Ben Simmons or Antonio Blakeney.

My main problem with this plan is the same problem I have with Coach Jones: Who is the coach who impacted/influenced/taught him the most? With Jones, it was Dale Brown. With Hornsby, it is Johnny Jones. That coaching tree is infected with mediocrity. We need to find our coaches elsewhere.

I feel like he could play a year or two in the NBA if his release was smoother and quicker. Hes gritty, quick, and attack the rim. He could make an NBDL team today.
