If toliver can stay healthy he will be a great player for us.

Donte is an elite corner when he wants to be, Aranda has said as much and some preseason publications have him listed as such. Yes he had some bad plays last year, he tried to play routes too aggressively and rely on makeup speed at times. If he has learned when to bail I think he could be an AA.

Toliver wasn't without his flaws either, like getting his head turned when in good position. If he has learned when to look for the ball I think he can be an AA as well.

We have two top shelf prospects trying to perfect their game. Excited to see them play. I don't expect either to return if they play like I think they will

Toliver was in perfect position 90% of the time but refused to turn his head around for some reason. Donte was constantly picked on and majority of the time lost the battle. No was donte is our #1 corner. KT will be great this year though

I agree that from what I've seen KT2 > DJ. To me DJ has to improve dramatically. Even with his great speed, it always seemed he was chasing wide open receivers. Whereas, before injury, KT2 was always in great position. Seems he just needed to turn his head and find the ball, a teachable deficit.

I don't mean to demean, but in my opinion DJ is a bit overrated at this stage both as a db and as a returner. He has great potential that at this stage I don't believe has been realized. Maybe this is the year he puts it all together.

It would be great to have two lock down corners. That would take the D to another level and allow Aranda to develop all types of new formulas in his laboratory.

He did not play up to LSU db standards. Picked on means abused...and there were many times he was out of position or took bad angles.

Was he perfect? no. Was he abused? absolutely not. He played pretty well.

LSU had one of the best defenses in the country. Top 12 in 3rd down conversion %, Top 20 in total passing yards. Only 9 td's allowed through the air. If he was totally abused, They would have allowed a lot more. I don't know the number of td's scored on him, however, I guarantee it wasn't many. I remember white giving up 2 in one game. Therefore, there are only 7 left. I'm sure a line backer, slot, or safety gave up a couple. Factor that in, he played pretty darn good considering they were attacking him most of the time and avoiding white.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I honestly think that KT2 and Donte are the worst pair of CB starters we've had in a while based on performance. They've had a few good moments here and there but goodness have they struggled at times.

DJ>KT Simply because DJ can tackle better. KT seems to just grab people and wrestle them around...I dont think Ive seen him take a man to the ground my himself

Donte had a lot of questionable calls against him last year for pass interference when he was in great position I think he needs to get stronger but he's a dual sport guy he should focus on one sport at this point if he's serious about football KT on the other hand I look for him to be physical shutting down people and helping in run support

Donte gets burned on one play vs Florida= abused

He got picked on because nobody wanted to pass on Tre White

He did take a few bad angles on tackles but was never "abused". The angle problem can be fixed and I have confidence in Aranda

Even Tre blew a coverage for a touchdown vs A&M

No disrespect to Donte Jackson, he's a pretty good CB, but he's not even close to being as good a CB as Kevin Toliver is. He was just hurt last year.

Dude would have had 6 or 7 picks last year if he would have learned to turn his head around. Can't remember how many times he had great coverage and just didn't turn around to find the ball when it was in the air. He'll be really good when they get that fixed.

This. He was never beat in coverage that I remember, he just never did a good job of turning his head and making a play on the ball. If a fan can see that I assure you Raymond has harped on it and he will be better.
People forget he started as a true FR and was pretty good. He was injured much of last year and definitely underperformed.

Lol, dj could be really good this year, but he got beat a lot. Speed helps, but technique just as important.

Whether beat or poor technique, they made plays on him....especially Florida.

Like someone mentioned earlier-- DJ might be at the point of taking his technique to the next level, i.e. guys under Raymond's coaching [and perhaps Aranda] who's learning curve jumps at a certain point.

This is typically the case for people, no matter if we're talking athletic or other areas of work/career/etc.

Idk why people here feel as if they have to belittle others.
I guess it's because y'all have some "idiocy" complex. Normal casual conversation is ok. Y'all act like 16 year olds"

I think KT2 has a better year

He has been draped on receivers, but he does not turn around to look for the ball. I hope he has been taught the technique because I think he can be a first round draft guy.
