Hope Alem's honesty doesn't cost him.

Rahim tells it like it is:

quote:
"There were two touchdowns we couldn't do anything about," Alem said in reference to quarterback Jarrett Lee throwing two interceptions to backup middle linebacker Darryl Gamble that were returned for touchdowns. The first return of 40 yards put Georgia up 7-0 in the first 20 seconds of the game. The second one of 53 yards put the Bulldogs up 52-31 with 3:18 left to play.
Wow. I was wondering when the finger pointing would start.

Alem played a good game in spite of the coaching. Talent can only be held back so much.

"Not going to comment on the schemes."
If he says that you know other players are thinking it.

I do not see it as much as finger pointing as I do "matter of fact"
He just stated the obvious; having said that,
we allowed more than 14 pts.
there is plenty of poor execution to go around.

let Alem talk, atleast he's out there putting someone on their back-seems like a leader.

Someone is finally trying to take a leadership role. If walks like a duck, talks like a duck, then it is a duck. If the scheme is more complicated than what it needs to be then change it. If it is difficult with co-coordinators, thenn fix it. Miles even knows it and I think this week will be a shakeup.

hate to say it, Miles has to get this thing righted, quickly. when your present players are upset, they will not be ambassadors to recruits visiting campus. Look for defections if this isn't controlled now.

Yeah, he has some room to talk.
Although 52-17 (points from turnovers) = 35. That's still a lot of points for an LSU D.
What did USCe give up against them? 14
Arizona State? Alabama? TN?
How many teams have let UGA score 35 or more? 45-21 GA Southern, 56-17 Central Michigan. UGA has not scored more than 30 against any other team...except in their loss to Bama.
LSU's D is bad. No way around it.

did you even read the entire article? he also said:

... But it wasn't just the offense. On defense, we messed up big. On offense, we messed up big. We were either giving up an interception for a touchdown or they were just gashing us. You can't win like that.
he's calling out both sides

I thought peveto and mallory were going to run pellini's defense?

we had the same problems last year

17 points off of turnovers for GA. Can't blame him. Defense did look undisciplined though. I think they forgot how to wrap up.

Guys, think about the players we lost from last year's team: Zenon, Chevis Jackson, Highsmith, Dorsey, Luke Sanders, Steltz. Does not take a rocket scientist to fugure there's GOT to be a drop off in production, regardless of the talent that replaces them. You CANNOT make up for that departure of EXPERIENCE in one year. We all knew this going into this season. Add a redshirt freshman QB and the loss of your Def. coordinator = 2-4 losses.

Some would say this is bad, but I think it is good. Someone needs to speak out and get in someone's face. Alem is probably our best dl this year.

He took blame. He said the defense bore reponsibility.
What I noticed was the note that the defense might be too complicated and Miles says it isn't.
I'm wondering if he is recruiting dumber players and no, I'm not kidding.

The Defense did their job right after halftime. Made Georgia punt and gave our offense the ball in good field position with a chance to tie the game, what did we do gained 1 yard and punted. No adjustment were made if they were that would have been the opportunity to implemente them.

I was hoping people would pick up on that and not stop after the first quote.
He was obviously responding to a question, probably, "Why has LSU given up 50 points in the two losses this year" or something like that, and he just pointed out that two of the touchdowns weren't scored on them. Do people really not realize shite like this when they read an article???
Also, I did think the "not gonna comment on the schemes I just try to do my job" line was much more interesting.

Yep. He blames the offense for a 52-38 loss. That is certainly telling.

seems like a leader.
A leader, who happens to play defense, doesn't blame the offense for not winning a game in which the defense gave up 38 points on our home field. A defense that consistently gives up big play after big play, killing every possible rally with yet another blown coverage, missed tackle and backbreaking opponent's TD has nowhere to point fingers except in a mirror.
