I don't think you understand odds. If I flip a coin, it doesn't matter how many times in a row I get heads...the next flip always has a 50% chance to be heads.

Given two outcomes...there's always a 50% chance. No more...and no less.

I don't think you understood my point if that's what you got out of it.

Hiring a coach is not something that can be reduced to a coin flip...though let's be honest, is anyone comfortable making a change if the best you could hope for is 50%?

Looking at the history of successful programs that made a switch in coaches while they were doing well only to fall is kind of worth a look considering that's what is being suggested. When you do, there is just no reason to assume that LSU will do what most others have been unable to do, and that's go from good/great to great/better than great. Historically when programs make that move, most of them have needed an interim failure at coach in order to then make the hire they needed to go beyond they first fire. There are RARE exceptions...but then that's why they are called that.

LSU could break all trends and become the first program in the modern era and go from a guy that won like Saban to a guy that won like Miles to a guy that surpasses both of them. I mean...yeah, it's possible,

As a fan I wish that would happen...but anyone that thinks it's plug and play that we accomplish that is fricking high.

Hudspeth and Matt wells (Utah St) would be great candidates.

As long as Skip is involved in the coaching search, I would be confident in the hire. If it is Alleva's call, I am losing confidence in it.

Sometimes it does...unfortunately none of what you posted in regards to Mett or Hill was the truth. Mett grabbed a girl in a bar, and Hill fricked a willing girl at his school a couple of days after he turned 18 in his senior year who had regrets afterwards when her Dad found out. OUTRAGE!!!!

Which makes you, ironically enough, a bigger scumbag than what you consider either of them to be

Huh...go figure.

Revisionist history is a hell of a thing! Hey , maybe ole Les can change his worshipers title from sunshine pumpers to smoke pumpers.

As for replacing Doofy Dunwrong, I'd suggest someone with a spine.

I remember when this University meant something great.

I'm sure you thought the whole "HoneyBadger" thing was adorable. "I failed four or five drug tests at LSU". Who was the coach then ?

The Shadys Bar episode with JJ was just an anomaly too I suppose ?

I wonder why there's a "decline" ?

Lack of leadership = lack of discipline.

I's sure that's all Tom Ritter's fault though.

FFS !

I understood your point just fine...the fact remains that there are two possibilities though. And logic/science/math tells us that that's a coin flip situation.

Trying to increase your odds by taking into consideration certain criteria doesn't change those odds. It makes it more likely that you get the desired result though.

Lsu fans don't deserve a good program. We have a coach that has as many sec titles as any program during his tenure, has beaten more ranked teams than other program, has been ranked in the top 25 more than any other program, has the best ooc record in the history of the sec, has a top 5 win % in sec history, and has the 2nd best grad rate and most of the fans on here want him gone and talk about him like he is some bumbling idiot. He accomplished all those accolades during the most successful era of sec football EVER

Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, either one of the Harbaughs. Who wouldn't want to coach at LSU?

Or promote Cam Cameron and elevate Frank Wilson to offensive coordinator. It would be a smooth transition.

Either of the above routes in no way would affect recruiting, as LSU as a school practically recruits itself.

I hope this is sarcasm.

Claude wroten got caught with pounds of weed. Shyrone carey was always seen on the oxygen tank because he smoke weed. Saban let so much shite go. You never heard about stuff under saban because he swept it under the rug.

Damien James ring a bell?

miles inherited a lsu program that had less than 3 losses 4 times since 1970.the posters on thos site need to stop acting like Miles took over this top 5 program that had decades of top 10-15 finishes. Miles inherited a 3 loss team from saban then had the worst natural disaster in us history and still went 11-1 during the regular season.

Is same age as Miles, You will just be making a new hire in a few years once he retires.

And i think he is a great coach that wasnt given enough time in oxford, but that wouldnt solve anything.
