quote:

It's pretty clear now, there's no debate. Firing LSU coach Les Miles should be a snap decision. There should be a $10 million buyout check waiting on his desk in Baton Rouge Sunday morning.

Pardon the pun, but another second shouldn't be wasted, not after Auburn hung on for a 18-13 victory here Saturday when LSU quarterback Danny Etling's apparent game-winning 20-yard TD pass to D.J. Chark was nullified because the play was snapped after time expired.

quote:

It's stunning to fathom that with the best football player ever to wear a uniform in its backfield, LSU is 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the SEC West after losing to a team that had dropped 10 of its 12 previous games against SEC opponents.

quote:

It's unbelievable to think that LSU, which has produced more active players (43) in the NFL than any other school in the nation, has now been outscored 26-0 this season in the fourth quarter.

quote:

It's unconscionable that with LSU's continuous string of top-10 recruiting classes, that dating back to 2013 Miles is .500 or worse against more than half of the West Division – 0-3 vs. Alabama, 1-2 each vs. Ole Miss and Arkansas, and now 2-2 vs. Auburn after Saturday's loss.

Forget Miles' typical non-sensible explanation of Saturday's final few plays. Just know this – it took LSU 15 seconds from 20 seconds left to play to 5 seconds left for LSU to line up and run a play that was nullified for an illegal shift just before Etling's TD was wiped off the scoreboard on the next and final play.

quote:

He also trotted out the "static in our headsets" excuse that he also used in the season-opening 16-14 loss to Wisconsin.

quote:

Like last year, Miles is apparently not putting his players in position to succeed.

Like last year, you'll never hear Miles publicly accept blame for not having his team prepared.

Like last year, anyone who thought LSU had a chance to challenge for the national title must feel stupid right now, especially LSU president King Alexander who bailed on firing Miles last November and just delayed the inevitable.

He put the football program one year farther behind the rest of the SEC West and he left a devoted fan base twisting in the wind.

Concur with much of what he wrote. Miles is a fool; his retention was a catastrophic blunder.

The most cogent and honest assessment offered.

I am really not a fan of Higgins but he is spot on.
You can tell Rabalais feels this way also but he is pulling his punches.

The entire world knows that a change is needed and is coming.

The time has come to burn LSU to the ground and rebuild it, brick by brick. The stadium, the library, the quad, CEBA, everything. Then, and only then, can we truly start this program again.

Anybody who has an experience with developing a successful business knows just firing Miles is not enough, King and Alleva must go as well, otherwise we recreate the same crap with different names

I live in Wisconsin and am a LSU Grad.....If there are any 4*/5* recruits that are up here very few they may be a linemen but last year he went to Michigan....I find this hard to believe Wisconsin is 4-0 and wins/wins with Walk-ons and 2*/3* recruits....They have more imagination than our offensive coaches and that is sad....I was at the WISCO Game 8/9 guys in the box...Les is playing football like when he played what in the 60's/70's for Bo S. (Nothing against the man) but Les times change...I don't know how simple to say this to you but you either adapt or it's over...I WOULD HOPE STARTING SATURDAY NO MORE BULL shite...YOU PLAY GUICE AND FOURNETTE TOGETHER...YOU RUN QUICK SLANTS WHATEVER AND RUN UP THE DAMN SCORE BECAUSE MY FRIEND YOU NEED TO WIN....OR SOMEBODY TAKE THE DAMN HEADPHONES AWAY AND YOU JUST WATCH AND SAY NOTHING....

The truth. Anyone who says otherwise puts Miles before the program.

No joke, I started to add a line about rehiring Javi just so we could immediately fire him, then I thought better of it and deleted that text before posting.

Its an LSU tradition. The administration is as gutless in making a coaching change as Miles making a QB change.

See Dale Brown.

All this could be said for the basketball coach- and look where he's at! I'm not hopeful.

When Namath was at Alabama, Howard Schnellenberger had to beg Bear Bryant to allow him to put two receivers into the offense. How many plays do we run with a single receiver, 50-plus years later?

King got a standing O at the last BOS meeting. Primarily for his work in keeping LSU afloat during all the budget issues the State has been going through. The BOS puts a bit more emphasis on that vs firing a HC in football and who is to blame for his lack of production. FWIW.
