It always seems like Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, and now Tim Tebow, as players, along with Coach Bear Bryant, are faces and names that represented the SEC. Why doesn't Kevin Faulk get mentioned with these four? Here is KF's resume compared to HW and BJ.

All Purpose Yards......
Kevin Faulk......#1 in SEC history and 5th NCAA history @ 6,833 AP yards.

Career rushing yards
1) Hercshel Walker ... 5259 in 3 years
2) Kevin Faulk ... 4557 in 4 years
3) Bo Jackson ... 4303 in 4 years

You do have a good argument. I think them winning the heisman kind of pushes them ahead of Faulk though.

LOL....I almost listed him, but he won't have the everlasting SEC legacy as portrayed by the media as the ones mentioned. Glad he's gone.

Maybe, but gaining more yards than any other in SEC history should trump a 1 year wonder (Heisman) even though these players were not 1 year wonders.

When I think of players that represent the sec I think of Herschel, Bo, Bear, and Faulk.
And I know that people won't agree with me but I would think of Emmit before Tebow.

First and foremost, Darren McFadden leads or is in 2nd in 5 of the 7 rushing categories listed. Most notably he is 2nd all time in career rushing with 269 less carries than Walker but only 669 yards behind.

In no particular order:
Walker
McFadden
Faulk
Jackson

McFadden and Emmit are honorable mention and as for as the media is concerned, so is Faulk. The Mount Rushmore of the SEC according to the media is (Bear Bryant, Hercshel Walker, Bo Jackson, Tim Tebow).....Kevin Faulk should be carved somewhere in there.

It depends on who's not mentioning him - who you're talking about. If someones says he shouldn't be up there in the top 5, certainly top 10 SEC backs since '80's, then you're on the extreme - and that's on pure stats.

I think you have a good case for top 5 since '80 in the SEC, maybe up to 3. But, to LSU, he moves higher when it comes to the program at LSU, and what he meant in comparison to other LSU players... which is another question.

i dont give a shite how the media or SEC fans perceive him

he was/is my favorite LSU player of all time

he's the best overall player in LSU history

and him signing with LSU was as important as any other event in recent LSU football history
