Herring is only used once a weekend...why not start him?

He has been stretched to 70 plus pitches so why waste him as a relief pitcher? Obvious we need starters!

Agree with this take but then you have no one out of the pen to secure a game.

And how does that affect the pen in game 3?

Because we have no other pitchers to put into high leverage situations with the lead. If Herring moves to day 3 starter, the bullpen would just blow whatever lead we get when Holman starts game 1

Our bullpen would just inevitably blow the lead if you move him to a starting role.
