Joe Alleva is a spineless sack of shite for an AD. Every big time move he tried to make has been a disaster

Last time.....if Texas was available, NO other schools had a chance. And No ONE can outbid Texas if it comes to that (which you don't want)
doesnt matter. If Herman is your number one target you at least try. If nothing else you make Texas pay a lot more. They got a fantastic deal

I love Coach O and I'm glad he is out Coach but I agree that Aleva did a terrible job with this and he let his personal feelings interfere with his job representing LSU. He screwed up the Florida game also

The guy backed out of a verbal agreement - not necessarily due to greed - but because he preferred a different product if he could get it. First of all, we don't need someone that reneges on a verbal with an opportunity of this magnitude. Secondly, ask yourself a question: On an even playing field (i.e. same money with no strings attached regarding assistants), which offer would Herman have chosen? Texas, of course. $An extra $500K from us wouldn't have made a difference. Joe did the right thing. End of story.

this. It's like y'all want Orgeron to fail just so you can be right on a message board and anonymously scream out "I TOLD YOU SO!"

Pathetic.

Exactly. Notre Dame was Urban Meyer's "dream job" until Florida threw the bank at him.

Matt needed someone to holler at because his boy, Jimbo, decided not to come here. Never mind Jimbo wanted garaunteed 50 mil. Ever since Miles was fired, ole Matt was sucking Jimbo's pecker, making the case for those who would listen.

Joe should have offered 1 mill more, because LSU now will pay twice that with new OC and Aranda's raise. He quit too soon, even though Herman always wanted Texas.

Herman isn't worth 5 million.

I recall when Charlie Strong, Rich Rodriguez and Brian Kelly were all the next can't miss prospects an had a better resume than Herman. How are they doing? I'm fine with Texas wasting their time and money on him.

Ole miss isnt in the sec's big 6.

Even if they were, Freeze is more qualified than Ed Orgeron.
Freeze was an oc and head coach at Arkansas State.

While he was the OC, they broke 9 offensive school records.
His year as HC they went 10-2.
Freeze's resume is far better than Orgeron's.

is a no winner for you then. He can win 11 a year, lose to Bama and you will be saying "I told you so!" Good lord.

Ill never root for lsu to lose.
Even if Orgeron ends up being successful it doesnt mean we didnt hire the most unqualified hire in big 6 history.

Holy shite. No one COMPARED him to Saban. The point i was trying to make is that even the best coach of our generation(maybe ever) lost a bunch of games at Michigan state. People dismissing Herman because of losses wouldve also dismissed what Saban was doing at Michigan State.

If you wouldve just looked at Saban's losses at Michigan State, he would seem like a bad coach.

No one wants Orgeron to fail. Just because people can admit that this hire was shitty, doesnt mean they want lsu to lose.

At no point did i bring Salary into the discussion.

The point is that if you judged Saban on his msu accomplishments you would deem him a bad coach just like people are doing with herman over his losses to navy. Saban lost to Ulm and uab with sec talent.
