Here is why I think we may end up with Lane Kiffin

According to Paul Finebaum, as most of us have learned, Kiffin is apparently finished in Tuscaloosa after this season.

But he doesn't NEED to go to a non-Power 5 school like Houston to get another big coaching gig. If he would have stayed at Bama for another year or two, with continued success, he would have a number of offers to coach big programs.

I think there is a strong chance Lane will come coach with Orgeron until he gets the big offer he wants. At this point in his career there is no distinction, in the minds of AD's, between him being HC at Houston or OC at LSU (as long as he lights up the scoreboard). And with all of the talent we have, there is no reason to think he can't come in here and immediately make people fear the Tigers again.

And it will be clear if the offense is very successful, he will have been why.

Why is that a good thing? How did Kiffin and O work out at Tennessee and USC? I can't believe we have a fanbase so excited to get a coaching combination that has failed miserably at their two previous stops.

LSU football won't recover from this weekend for several years.

Because Lane Kiffin has proven he is a much better coordinator than a HC.

And as far getting excited, I'm not. I'm simply trying to be optimistic and supportive about the direction of LSU football.

If this is true, Kiffin will draw interest from multiple power 5 teams.

Kiffin has proven that when he has the best players in the country that are extremely disciplined, he is a good coordinator. The only two places he succeeded is under Pete Carroll and Nick Saban, don't think O is in that category.

What's the timetable for O to make a decision on an OC?

It has to be fairly quickly right? Recruiting and installing an offense...etc.

I hope not. Get those two together and we're begging for the Infractions Committee to pay a visit.

I'm with another poster who said Orgeron seems to be acting like he may already have his guy locked up. I would like to think maybe after this upcoming weekend when conference championship games are over.

Kiffin, maybe but much emphasis should be made to upgrade the OL and strength and conditioning program. Yes, Moffitt should be replaced and more athletic O linemen recruited. "O" has said as much himself.
