Herman runs the show next year. Miles retires in style in 2016 and the buyout doesn't happen. All parties are happy.

Don't think Herman would leave a head coaching job to be an OC, HCIW or not.

This would be one of the worst outcomes -- completely wrongheaded. Imagine a "lame duck" head coach (and staff) imagine the impact in terms of recruiting alone. I believe this would neither be a sweet victory lap for Miles nor anyone else involved with LSU athletics - very awkward on many levels. This would be a time of limbo, a time of sadness and apathy. Damn I hope this does not happen.
