Yeah I don't remember people saying he wasn't ready. He would have been drafted high after his freshman year if he could have left. But that's not a big endorsement of your view point. Most times when people comment a guy should come back a year they should. Turners the exception not the rule

Didn't he already go out to Arizona to train for the combine? The NCAA would definitely find a way to suspend him for that if he changed his mind and came back.

Ummmm. You might want to pick through this thread if you think folks weren't saying he shouldn't leave.

Whatever the young man does, best of luck to him. He was with us four years and we can't expect much more from him.

Would love to see him stay and help the cause but totally get it if he goes.

Some people on here said Ego Ferguson should return for his senior year. It worked out pretty well for him in the draft.

There are a couple people saying he's not ready in a thread full of people that weren't saying that? Doesn't prove your point.
He went to the combine and put up the best numbers of any guard. And then went third round. That thread is riddled with people saying they didn't understand why he didn't come back one year and end up a top 15 pick

They were right.

Trai is a probowler getting paid 700,000/year.
Zach martin (16th pick) is a probowler from the same draft and his rookie deal is worth 9 mil. That could have been Trai in the next draft.
Trai's rookie deal is worth 2.7. Not even talking signing bonus, he cost himself over six mil over the first four years of his career.

Some of that "mass exodus" group that left for the NFL got some terrible advice.

This guy gets it. Hawkins is NFL ready but is unlikely to be a first rounder. If he were to come back and play well, he might be a first rounder next season. The difference in money is significant. Trai Turner left MILLIONS on the table by coming out early.

Patience and hard work are virtues.

way more than a couple guys saying it. There are guys saying on there that he wasn't in the top 50 of OGs.

Or he made a ton more than he would have had he come back, destroyed his knee on the opening drive, and been out for the season. Point is, neither of us know shite about what could have been.

Not to mention...you were saying he was the exception and should have gone pro...now you are arguing against that?

One dude said I can't find him in the top fifty because no one had him on a list yet cuz no one expected him to come out?

Hawkins will be a 3-4 rounder. Has 3 days to decide to come back.

I was critical of him in pass protection this year, although it wasn't as bad as Alexander's. Hawkins really isn't quick enough to handle speed rushers on the left side. He will likely move back to RT in the pros, and will be a lot better off there.

He's as ready as he will get at the college level. Unless there is a really weak tackle class next year, he should go ahead and move on.

Best of luck to him!

He should stay and take the minimum number of hours while concentrating on getting better at football. He can improve his physical attributes and his technique. Starting a career too soon can cost players more than waiting a year and becoming more mature.

He won't make it to the 3rd rd. Definitely a RT in the NFL, but that shouldn't keep him out of rd2. I doubt he's a 1st rd pick, but honestly I can't blame him. He won't miraculously be thought of as an NFL LT after one more year.

700,000 dollars is better than nothing. That is more money than most will see in their lifetime.

No I said he was the exception and not the rule in that he worked out and he became a Pro Bowler. That doesn't always happen a lot of guys come out early and it doesn't work out I'm thinking about Anthony Johnson. The majority of NFL guys don't make it to a second contract.
So yeah Turner worked out but He's a Pro Bowler playing on a rookie minimum salary because he came out one year too early. That's all I'm saying.
