Has LSU announced why we asked to move the Arizona State games back again?

The report on the home page says the games have now been moved back to 2026 and 2029 and Arizona State says LSU asked for the change. Has LSU said why? These games were originally supposed to be played in 2005 and 2008, then after Katrina disrupted the 2005 game, they were pushed back to 2015 and 2016, then pushed back again to 2022 and 2023. Why now all the way back to 2026 and 2029? What's the point of even scheduling a game that far in advance? The way scheduled games keep getting pushed back or cancelled, what are the chances of a game scheduled over 10 years in advance actually being played? Why even bother?

When is the last time one of the games LSU scheduled 10 years in advance didn't get moved? This series will end up getting cancelled and to make up for it we'll schedule a neutral site game and a home game against west carolina.

ASU was not the one that wanted to move it, LSU asked.

ASU and OSU were able to add a series to replace it.

My guess is with Texas and UCLA as a home and home LSU needed those years from ASU to schedule more neutral site games. I bet they announce a game in new Atlanta stadium shortly.

Yes, it tells me exactly the opposite of what you are saying. It tells me this...

quote:

LSU recently asked ASU to accommodate the move of the dates to subsequent years.

What it doesn't tell me is why LSU asked ASU to push it back.

This, however, I believe...

It will never get played
