Has anyone taken time from griping to give O-line props?

By far and away the best development of the season has been the improvement of the offensive line. Our run game has been much better and they are doing a good job of pass protection, yet nobody seems to be making a big deal out of that. Shouldn't coaches get credit when things to right if they are taking the fall when things don't?

The O-line really hasn't had a lot of holding/false start penalties, have they?

This actually hasn't been too bad either. It just takes us 25 seconds to get rid of the ball.

The o-line is undoubtedly better than last year. The fact we have a solid running game with little to no threat passing the ball is a testament to their run blocking skills. And pass blocking hasn't been bad at all, especially in the interior of the line.
Now, they were bad vs WVU in regards to penalties. Way too many in that game. Luckily, it was the outlier game so far this season. We were doing pretty good up to that point.

To be fair, losing Blackwell on the first play of the season sucked, and hurt the coordination of the line as a whole.
No telling how much better the o-line would be with WB back in there now.

I have given the coaches credit for vast improvement in all areas save the QB, problem is with QB problems comes severe offense problems. Just no way around it. If the guy that touches the ball every offensive snap can't execute, then how can the guys around him?

Seriously?? They are playing better than last year as a whole but there pass blocking is not great and run blocking is ok.

Just ok?
LSU is running for 189.8 yards per game this year. Last year, LSU averaged 122.8 yards rushing per game. That is an improvement of 67 yards a game.
Ridley is averaging 108.5 yards per game.
But the run blocking is just "ok".

It is just ok...LSU is 5th in the conference in rushing. I would change it from "ok" if we were top 3.

If we had any semblance of a passing game it'd be a little easier to run

But you have to factor in not having a passing game.
That will stall drives, giving us less opportunities to run.
Not to mention, with no passing game to speak of, teams can key on our run the entire game. And yet we're still running well. And we're improving, we've been much more consistent the past 2 games then we were in the 1st 2, IMO.

The run blocking has been fine, but the pass blocking is below average. WV got pressure with a 3 man rush on several plays.

On a three man rush, qb needs to audible, and we run Ridley up their arse for a big gain....just saying....with only three rushing, that would mean tight coverage for receivers...

It is not just the O-line, we have improved our special teams, D-line, running attack, the overall defense (2nd year under Chavis' system), and getting plays in on time. We won 9 games last year without these improvements. I wish the negatigers could see that this team has so much potential if we can get the QB situation to just being serviceable (you know, kinda like that red team last year from the East of us).

Check out from the Advocate article who is leading the O line in knock downs - Hebert. Considering the # of snaps he has had compared to the regulars, his snap to knock down ratio is way up there. Seems like he us finally getting healthy. His attitude seems to be awesome!! Props to T Bob!
