The NCAA letter acknowledged seven primary allegations of violations — all already reported by LSU — and asked multiple follow-up questions to each.

The NCAA does not have to accept LSU’s self-imposed penalties and could come back next year to impose stiffer penalties. LSU sent out a prepared statement Wednesday pointing out that the NCAA is not alleging any additional violations.

“This reaffirms our belief that LSU performed a thorough and deliberate internal review of the violations that were discovered in this case,” LSU Chancellor Michael Martin said in the statement, “and I am confident that we have taken corrective measures to avoid future violations.”

NCAA requests more information on LSU's self-reported violations

"The NCAA does not have to accept LSU’s self-imposed penalties and could come back next year to impose stiffer penalties." I am just wondering if anything has been heard from this and when things will start to happen from it?

I know the NCAA has been real busy over the last year but still they found time to want more info from LSU about the violations so there must be something happening since it has been 5 or 6 months when we last heard from them on this.

I sure hope nothing comes of it with all the excitement about the next season getting closer and with the expectations being so high for the team ranked in the top 10 no matter which poll you chose to follow.

What are Yall's thoughts on this and will the Ohio St problems cause any harder penalties on LSU since the NCAA is out to quail all the problems that are poping up all over the place? I am one that sure hopes not.

Tressell tried to hide the situation. Les didn't let the lineman play, fired the coach involved and reported the wrong doing. i think "we" will be fine.

Technically, we let McCarthy "resign" but I agree with everything else.

Given our past NCAA history, or nearly the lack of same, we are most likely in good shape. The NCAA accepted the self-imposed penalties under Saban and should accept these as well.
