Apparently that's the gist of what I'm reading. Can't make changes because of the state of the pathetic economy makes the University look bad trying to upgrade at a high grade coaching position like football with a buyout.

Sucks but we may be tied to Miles and JJ for more than a year even if they flounder again next year.

Games, wins, Being a Champion..

Can't sugar coat this shite our inability to make proper changes wheather it be coaching or internal because of public perception of wasted money during a bad ecomomy..

To clear it up

I guess now is as good a time as any to point out that it's not like the USC(west), U of Miami and (probable) Georgia hires are earth shattering.

If nothing else, seems like 15 million dollars aren't simply going to be pissed away. Maybe those TAF boosters should buy Alexander a Ferrari with some of the savings.

Choctaw doesn't care about LSU. He cares about Miles. He got Miles now, frick everything else. If LSU academics and LSU athletics were on the verge of bankruptcy, Choctaw would only care of what happens with Les.
Choctaws POV
1. Les Miles
2. LSU Football

Hurricane Miles POV

1. hate Les Miles with every fiber of his being
2. LSU Quidditch
3. LSU football

His love for Jindal trumps all. And jindal deserves much of the blame for the shite situation we're in.

Choctaw you said many times that you will always be a Tiger.

When Miles leaves to coach the Mizzou Tigers, you were right in saying you will always be a Tiger.

You were 100% correct
You are an awesome fan.

Wait till TAF donations dry up with this downturn in oil and gas

Wonder what they will use all those empty suites for?

It cannot be the economy.
Governor Jindal has assured us that we are in the midst of an "economic miracle" as a result of his stewardship.
Nor could it be cuts to higher education. Because Governor Jindal has assured us of his commitment to higher education generally and LSU in particular.

Who cares about JJ. Just keep Miles somehow someway.

If Jimbo was guaranteed to win it all every year here, why didnt he come? Hell, he cant even make to the title game in the powerful ACC!

This whole thing is about a contract that already exists with Miles with the ink barely dry and the administration's attempt to buyout that contract weighed by the support for/against Les Miles. 50% against Les Miles was not enough to justify a $15 million (or $11 million) buyout and then entering into a new contract with what may have been the 3rd highest paid coach in football if the 2nd rumored offer of $6-6.5 million was correct.

An 8-3 record did not justify a $2+million dollar increase in salary along with such an expensive buyout. Again, the media will always use the big number in their headlines. No one will continuously go into the detail of how it was financed every time they mention that number.

Let me get this straight:
We have a coach who, though a great person, underperforms and is vastly overpaid.
The administration recognizes the foregoing, but reports that we cannot afford to fire him, because of our financial troubles....
