It is true.

He has no implementation power and influence.

He can determine the right things to do, but is incapable of wielding power to get such things done.

He should have called the SEC and let them know Florida was angering for a cancellation to help their chances to win the East.

This was 100% about avoiding a loss. Everything else said is propoganda.

How much "power" could he wield?

He can't order around the commish.

Sure, he could pitch a fit and douche it up, but what would it change?

To be fair, no matter what he did this game wasnt going to be played. He said during the conference call, he was making suggestions and Florida was saying Gainesville or nowhere. He also called out the SEC and said they didnt intervene and mentioned nothing in the call...

Joe did everything you'd expect in this situation. He had no sway or control over the decision so he tried offering solutions to a problem. At the end of the day you can't lay blame on anyone but Florida and the SEC

Alleva said the SEC was in on every conference call they had since Tuesday. They knew what was going on the whole time.

As much as I can't stand JA, this is true.

He is not the AD of Bama, UF or Auburn.

If he was, it would be a whole different story.

It is funny to me that this incident is the one that is finally waking fans up to what many of us have been trying to tell everyone for years. There is no Santa.

There are teams in the SEC that have every on the field and off the field advantage, then there is everyone else. LSU falls in the "everyone else" category.

Be more proactive. Negotiate realizing people are going to try to manipulate the narrative. Get IN FRONT of the PR and message FOR ONCE.

And this post is about the overall Alleva, not just this occasion. Not sure if you are too busy or too stupid to realize that.

He's powerless, that's sort of his point.

Foley walked all over Sankey, there was nothing Alleva could do about the game other than control the story from LSU's perspective. But since he is a terrible PR guy on top of holding no weight within the conference, Foley also wiped the floor with him in that regard.

So you wanted him to schedule a presser minutes after the decision was made and say what exactly?

Foley is a media darling who obviously intimidated Sankey. If indeed what Alleva has conveyed is accurate that LSU offered to fly and lodge them in Baton Rouge for a Sat/Sun/Mon game as well as play in Gainesville Sunday or Monday night, he did all he could. This is when Sankey dropped the ball.

Now IF Alleva agrees to go to Gainesville on 11/19 and A&M game stays at Thanksgiving we can talk again.

He should have publicized this on ESPN, Fox, CBS, etc on Wednesday.....call UF to the carpet and then let them make either make the right call or be the bad guy. You always have to put yourself in a position of power....LSU did not do that this week.

And the SEC would have said that may be true but this helps Bama win the West so we are not interested in getting involved.
