the big nail in the coffin was we lost that game for the exact same shite that he's being crucified for right now

no adjustments. same old shite. no strategy. no attacking. no in-game change.

And as long as he feels secure in his job, none of that is ever gonna change.

Yea too much drama in one day to go back to 2011 QB controversy. That's on me for bringing it up.

And since then?

'12-'13 were decent seasons. Really regressed last year and this year has been better overall than '14

It's so ironic how the only arguments that can be made in defense of Miles are strictly results-based, when the results are far from elite.

Far from elite?

He is top 5 in wins since his hire.
He is top 5 in national titles
He is top 3 in national title game appearances.
He is #1 in ranked team wins.
He is #1 ij weeks ranked
His tenure at lsu was the best 10 year stretch in lsu history.

HOW THE frick IS THAT NOT ELITE?
Because he isn't saban at bama?
This is what I'm talking about. Dumbass fans saying his results haven't been elite. How is the best stretch in our programs history not elite.

And for the record results are all that matters. In 20 years no one will care how our 200 offense played.

Well that is patently false considering an e tire team of his players from '09-'11 improved enough to win a conference title and national title game appearance.

with "Saban's players" we had 2 SEC title appearances (2005, 2007), 1 SEC title (2007), and 1 national title (2007)

that is > than 1 conference title and a national title game appearance

just saying your point doesn't discredit his point at all and strengthens his point

We were terrible in 08 I agree but that was a rebuilding year and from top to bottom you would still take that roster over the current one. We don't have the depth of talent we had in Miles first years here. You know that's true.

Everyone on that 2007 roster spent more time with Miles than saban. If Miles is such a horrible coach then he shouldve done worse with Saban's players. He did better than Saban did

Maybe not.

But I know what I've been seeing on the field for several years. Who am I going to believe? Miles? Or my own lying eyes?

in 20 years Miles is going to have the exact same legacy of offensive defects and "Saban" (both the angle of the talent he inherited and being dominated by Saban while he was Bama's coach). Miles' legacy will always be intertwined with Saban

that wasn't what was being discussed

it was whether miles was able to maintain the same level of player that saban left him

i think saban wins 2 titles with that 05-07 stretch

plus Jimbo was our OC for 05-06 and he was Saban's guy (boosters forced Miles to keep him and they butted heads a bunch, which is why Jimbo left)

What is the point? Are you trying to argue that saban is better than miles? Because I'm not fighting that one. We know that. I'm arguing that miles has been a very adequate coach for us and the results back me up.
But the uway's of the world act like he is terrible

that point was that saban left miles with a better team than miles has been able to replicate afterwards

Miles benefitted from the inertia created by 2003. Any coach would have benefitted from that.

What? People wanting Miles fired for what happened during the 2011 season. Poster want a coach fired for losing in a national title game.
Hell the very next year Notre Dame got beat far worse than us did you here anyone wanting Kelly fired? No. That's should tell you something. Notre Dane fans being more rational than we are is troubling.

uch better, but when you take into account making a QB change mid season when you're undefeated, and not just undefeated, but killing teams, I think it was a bad move, strategically. LSU kept winning, but the offense didn't look the same IMO.

Agreed. Lee had earned the right to keep starting
