I'm not being stupid. If anything, YPA for rushing and passing is a pretty good indicator of efficiency.

It doesn't factor in that most of AJ's were on broken plays that had no blocking designed for him to run, and he didn't know he was running before the snap.

It does a pretty good job of pointing out how 2 triple option teams had more effective passing games than a program that tries to claim "drop back passing" and "pro style offense".

And how many times has this thread been done already?

This one? None.

IMO, this is much more a red flag for the system than the players operating it. The simple fact of the matter is that we likely would have a (much?) more productive offense if Les/Cam (whoever you choose to believe makes the decision) were flexible enough to adjust the system around the strengths of the players. Do I think we need to go flexbone triple-option? No. But it is clear, IMHO, that there are other coaches who AJ would look good playing for.

Your rushing stats argument on top of you thinking Thomas had "BARELY" better passing stats than Jennings which is laughable.

Have you never heard of QB Efficiency ratings, really?

Wasn't torn apart at all actually. Nice try though.

Yea, Jenning has over 100, so that stat means little to me.

Clean up the execution in the A&M game's offense, and we would look pretty solid on O.

But I agree with your post otherwise.

Much of the gameplan in the A&M game involved things we hadn't done all season. Much more zone-read, misdirection, jet sweeps, etc.

This. And the second half of Wisky. Where the hell was that offensive system the rest of the season?

Yep. It was the kind of offense I thought we'd see all year. There's always next year, right

Yeah I mean Thomas only had twice the yards per attempt Jennings had, good call on that one.
