You have to know the coaches had to have told him we would need him just to have some sort of depth at CB. Kid left his whole team out to dry because he couldn’t play one game at a position that isn’t really a huge injury prone position. I am all for supporting LSU players even when they reach the NFL but the guy might be the reason this game is closer than we want it to be.

Who’s going to pay for Greedy and his family to survive if he suffers a career ending injury?

Ask Jaylon Smith if he would do things over again. I’m sure he would like a few more millions in his pocket

Fresh topic. Downvoted for the simple fact that this has been discussed ad nauseam.

His family is more important than your precious bowl.

Kelvin Joseph is really letting down the program way more so than Greedy.

His *former* program. He's no longer a student athlete at LSU. As such, he's no longer "letting" the program down as that would imply present tense.

They did ask him:

Jaylon Smith: "No regrets"

Everyone talks about Jaylon Smith like he freaking died.

1) He played linebacker, a position much more susceptible to injury. Greedy plays corner, and at a level where he's so good he's rarely even involved in a tackle.

2) Jaylon could have come back for his senior year. Greedy has TWO years of eligibility left. Let's suppose Greedy breaks both his legs in some insane play. You think he can't return to form in TWO years? His daughter is going to just waste away? Give me a break.

If Greedy doesn't want to play, that's his call. His family isn't going to fail to "survive" though. Jaylon Smith is on a 7MM contract. And he's the ONLY example anyone ever cites. It's just tired. Greedy could play, but the insanely low chance risk is too much for him. That's all it is. And it's exacerbated by us having less depth at his position now than anywhere else on the field.

Play the game....and I'm not lying.

The chances of a catastrophic, career ending injury at that position are slim.

His choice though so whatever. I say Greedy who?

I know some people here think getting him a job at Boudreaux's Corner market would make up for it.

I'd assume his family is more important than the National Championship, too. Make the playoff, sit out, "my family!"

It's not one or the other. You people acting like he has to kill himself if he plays in the bowl have lost your minds.

Until someone sits out a playoff game, chill.

These games mean a lot to fans and coaches and players who need to show out or may not play again.

But they aren’t worth Millions to a 21 year old with a daughter.

When people say this is a meaningless game they mean there is no outcome to this game where we win anything more than a Fiesta Bowl.
