He's loved by all. But that doesn't mean it wasn't time for a change. Sometimes things get stagnant, it doesn't mean anyone's a bad guy.

I've been big fan of Les Miles over the years. While I also believe the time had come for him to look to other challenges, and for the program to look around for other leadership, that does not diminish the FACT that Les was a good man, and a great steward of the program during his time here.

That was awesome. Such a bittersweet time, glad for the fresh start but sad that it all had to end this way.

Lost our coach when I was a JR in hs.
Sucked too, been with guy since 8th grade.

Reading this makes you feel for these guys - they clearly loved him, but also makes me more angry that he didn't see clearly enough to make the changes necessary to move the program in the right direction.

I'll never run the Miles family out of Baton Rouge that's for sure. This was simply what needed to be done for the university. Still a quality man.

Great post... It will be hard to find a man more dedicated and loyal to his players and yes LSU.
