Really cool article fellas. Worth a read. Searched and didn't see anything.

ESPN Link

quote:

"Listen, this thing here, I'm going to get it," Orgeron told ESPN.com on Sunday morning while sitting in the office at the LSU football complex formerly occupied by Miles. "If we do what we need to do, I feel in my heart I'm going to get it. If I don't, it's because we didn't do well enough and I don't deserve it. Really, we control our own destiny, and I feel like we have a job here, and we have a right to earn it. If we earn it, we ought to get it. If we don't earn it, I get that. I know what the expectations are here. They're my expectations, the same expectations I had growing up in this state and cheering for the Tigers."

I tell you what, with the remaining games we have, if he wins all of them you have no choice but to keep him. No way you can get anyone else at that point. Get a homerun OC that can develop a QB and call it a day.

He and Lane have worked together a ton in the past. Wonder if he could get him to switch sides.

I agree he has a right to earn it and show what he can do - I appreciate the work and he should be given a look if he does things right.

However, if he doesn't get it, I fear he would leave and I want O to continue to be a part of the LSU staff.

"The only thing I told Steve was not to come out in the I-formation on that first series," Orgeron said with one of his vintage baritone laughs

Assuming he doesn't get a Head Coaching gig, I don't see why not. I'm sure someone like him doesn't like getting his @ss chewed out, even though that's probably what he needs. It might make him better, who knows.

Something tells me Kiffin would JUMP at that opportunity. Get out from under Saban and his "asschewings" and work with a familiar face that he has worked with in the past. And clearly Orgeron would give him the reigns to call the plays as he likes. This is assuming their relationship is still good which I've never heard is not the case.

If O earns the job, I could definitely be onboard with him as HC, Aranda as DC, and Kiffin as OC. And if we were to get up on Alabama in a game, do you think there would be even one ounce of letup from Kiffin sticking it to Saban as hard as he could? I don't see it.

I just have a few questions, that no one knows except the parties involved. And we are hypothetically speaking of O being HC. So, we are are hypothetically answering these questions. Lol

1) How does Aranda feel about coaching under O? (Would he jump ship for Texas with Herman?) assuming that's where Herman goes

2) Would Lane come? Does he ride it out with Saban hoping to potentially be Bama's next HC? (May or may not be possible) Does he feel like he owes Nick for making him relevant again?

3) Will these 3 be a good fit? (On paper it's awesome) Tremendously different personalities though

4) If Aranda would leave, who would be a candidate for DC?

Play along gents!!

will kiffin remain at Bama hoping to become Bama's next head coach?

When LK's contract was not extended when he was given a big raise\bonus in mid-September that telegraphs that he plans on leaving Bama after this season. That is why Saban hired Sarkasian just afterwards, to insure continuity in the offense

But don't get your hopes up that LK will be interested in an OC job here or anywhere else .

He wants to be a head coach again so he can be the chewer not the chewee!

You guys don't make any sense here. If he wins them all with the current staff, why would he need a new offensive coordinator. If Steve Ensminger out coaches Satan's D and out scores Kiffin, why would you replace him? O's job is riding on Ensminger, if he gets him the job I don't think he will replace him. That would be like what happened to O at USC.
