Agreed, some guys just jump off the screen and are easy to spot as playmakers. He is one of those guys.

What position was he recruited at?

He's a safety if you ask me. He just moves too well to be a rush LB, and needs prob 25lbs to be an EDGE player, if not more.

As good as he looked last night i hope they dont force that. He was mainly just running stunts from a DE position so that he wouldnt have to engage blockers. But holy shite his movement patterns are elite. He could be the next Delpit, or Jacoby Stevens.

I think the idea is ..

He's ready only in passing situations

Between Stevens and Brooks, we have two guys that are absolutely perfect for the S/LB hybrid role in the box.

When he was recruited he was ranked as an OLB. We recruited him and told him we’d use him like grant Delpit.

Reminds me of Derwin James, can play buck or safety.

Right now we need edge rushers and his speed is huge

They tried him at safety in camp. He’s fast and all but he doesn’t have the hips to cover WRs imo

It’s a reason they moved him back to olb

He could probably cover TEs though. He’s just not a natural safety to me

Me too. Less emphasis on him behind an edge rusher/OLB and more on the hybrid role.

Agreed. Kid is just such a weapon. Could show him in blitz situations and he’s competent enough to cover TEs and RBs. His weakness obvious comes in at run defense but if it’s 2nd and very long or 3rd and more than 7, I’m sending him in the game

It looks like he’ll take over for Stevens when he leaves, but for now they’re just working him in where he can make plays.

yup, it really changed the game putting him as a rusher in those obvious passing downs

May end up in time as the edge rusher they need. Has an explosive first step.

When Brooks is In the game he is the most athletic player on the field. Aranda needs to find a way to get him more snaps.
