Gotta admit, it’s going to be bittersweet not seeing Paul Mainieri in that doug out.

Just looking back at all the good times through the years with PM. I hope the new era can bring the same joy and excitement to my life that the past 14 years did. Got a little emotional about it quite honestly.

I’m upset at being the 8th downvote and also slightly proud of the first 7.

when will the statue be commissioned?

Paul degraded the LSU program the last ten years to the point that LSU fans on this board are ok with not making it to Omaha
Now LSU baseball is no longer considered the best in the SEC. Not even a top 5 program but yeah thanks Paul

I'll give you an upvote.
He got us a natty and a national runner up... that would have been a second natty if injuries don't strike our rotation.
He somehow got last year's team into a super.
Paul's health prevented him from coaching at a high level. I hope he is taking care of himself and can throw a nice strike tomorrow night.
His time may have been up but I'm glad he was our coach.

People don't realize how bad it was under Smoke and when he took over
Paul had a consistent run and added to the trophy case and just missed on a second natty in the parity era
I respected the way he exited when he left some money on the table by not completing his contract

People don’t know how lucky Paul got in 2017. You had 3 guys who simply wanted to play together one more time and carried that team on their shoulders. He didn’t talk them into coming back, they just wanted to do it thinking it would give them a chance at something special, Paul be damned. If that doesn’t happen, Paul is gone 3 years earlier.

There are 6 total schools that have made it to Omaha 5 times since 2008. LSU is one of them.
You'll be much happier in life when you stop comparing PM to Skip

Will Paul’s 30 year old married son still be sitting in the dug out like a bat boy?

It amazes me that people are still blind to this.

Based on the teams we brought, 1 for 5 isn’t exactly something to brag about.

It will be bitter sweet

It’s going to be awesome. What a breath of fresh air it will be the program was stale as can be

Of those other teams, only 2 of them won a championship. Only 2 schools have won multiple titles since 2008.

Indeed because that Marinara guy didn't do shite for LSU. His name needs to be erased from all mention of LSU baseball because of the dishonor he brought to the program. He didn't ever represent LSU in a positive way. Every thing he ever did was a joke.
We need to totally purge him from the history of LSU. We need to start a thread shitting on him at least once a week to atone for the lasting damage he did to the name of LSU.
If only he had contributed as much as WE have to LSU baseball we might forgive him for hurting our feelings, but he didn't so frick him! Time to shite all over him.
Amirite gurls?
