I really love this hire and I think JJ checks all of the boxes needed to return to our dominant status. With crews, Morgan, Dugas, and doughty returning along with a solid recruiting haul I could see this team becoming very scary in a short period of time. Find an elite pitching coach and the next 10 years could truly be epic. Very excited for the future and props to woody for making the right hire.

No it will not. First of all, this is not Alec Box Stadium of the 90's and secondly we better hope the team isn't juicing like it was then.

Doughty better find another position to play cause he is not very good 3rd baseman.

CJJ is an infield coach. If he can't coach Doughty up, no one can. I guess we will see, but there were quite a few plays to first this year that would've resulted in errors if not for Morgan's insane defense.

Link? Why is he an “infield” coach?

I was going to ask some intellible questions, but this post captured it perfectly.

Some of you purists can clarify this, but "gorilla ball" cannot simply return with the changes to the bat and the ball (I think the ball was also deadened). So, how do you bring that back with changes to the equipment?

This is no different than us Aggies wanting the return of the "Wrecking Crew." Ain't happening like it used to be. Passing game changed it.

You can have gorilla ball compared to today’s game just not compared to the teams of the 90’s. You could argue the team this year was in the mold of those gorilla ball teams. If they had the old bats Crews and Dugas probably could have easily hit 30-40 home runs.

With the more abundance of higher velocity of pitchers today and the emphasis on launch angles teams today would hit more homeruns with the old equipment than they did in the 90’s.

Lsu’s team this year finished 5th in the country in homers, it was a gorilla ball team.

The issue wasn’t homeruns, it was production from 7-9 in the lineup. We would get tons of Solo homeruns, but nobody in the bottom half of the lineup could get on base to get more RBIs
