Its not hard to see why backups have such a hard time coming into the game and succeeding under Miles. Gundy mentions changing with the times. Meanwhile, Les is stuck in the past.

“When Les (Miles) was here and I was working for him, the threes didn’t even get reps,” Gundy said. “Twos got very few. We’d go to practice … we had 50 plays. Josh Fields was going to get 45 of them. The two-guy would get five plays and that was it.”

A 180-degree change in philosophy compared to 2014. Throughout fall camp and into the early season, Gundy said Walsh has taken about 50 percent of practice snaps. Garman and freshman Mason Rudolph split the remaining repetitions down the middle.

“We just think it’s different nowadays,” Gundy said. “You have to change with the times.”

I think the results of this year will spell the end of the CLM era if LSU wants to have any claim to having an elite program.

So you're quoting a coach giving thoughts about a program 10+ years ago. You got proof he still does it that way? Or you just throwing stuff out hoping it sticks?

oh forgive me, i thought we wanted les to play the best players? Now we want to split reps with 3rd stringers that wont even get into the fricking games? Geez people.

Oh and btw, how many rbs have carried the ball? wrs caught passes? dbs been in the game. ill give you a hint. It,s been more than 3. We have alwasy rotated on d, always. we have always split carries always.

weve split reps at linebacker, at center, guard, qb, rb, wr, te, safety, corner, dt, de.

This article is talking about practice. How else to you explain a backup quarterback not knowing the plays and second stringers looking clueless in games

So are we concluding that the two's and three's here are barely getting reps?

Well if you could kindly sir point out which players and which games i will go back and watch for these things.

So you think Anthony Jennings got every rep at qb even though we were going to start Harris? Come on man i know you guys think miles is an idiot, but thats just asinine.

One down season doesn't mean you're not elite just like 1 national title doesn't make you a top 5 program.

The college football world disagrees with you. In each of those cases, once that coach had a losing season, he never recovered
