Man, after re-watching the goal line stand 2 more times our defense was GASSED! After Chad makes that amazing play, no one even gave him any dap. Seemed like they all knew that they had 1 more play to make and they needed to conserve energy...

No doubt. The people criticizing our D need to take this into account. Especially the stupid national sports media types that just to drive-by reporting by cherry picking a few stats and lobbing grenades. The D is a lot more organized than last year and seems to be improving each week. Unlike last year, the problems look fixable.

i actually really like the defense right now, and i'm falling in love with the potential we have on defense. We have starters who know what's going on, and even backups at multiple positions. I know that the D-Line is underachieving but the youngsters are getting time, and by next year they should be good. Our defense deserves some love in all honesty (especially the Duo of Chad Jones/Patrick Peterson)

I don't think the D Line is underachieving. They just aren't dominant like in the past. I just don't think the LBs are giving them much support in the run game yet. On plays where the Line clogs the middle and the RB can't burst through a hole, the LBs do a good job cleaning up. On plays where a hole opens up. however, the LBs either miss, bounce off, or get there late. If they can come around, we could be very good in a few games. That and if the offense can keep them off the field for a while.

Other than Jones, the rest of our defense was tangled in the mass of bodies. I don't think they knew what happened.

Honestly, who talks like this?

All we've shown so far on defense is that we have a couple of stars who can get it done athletically. We aren't gang tackling, and we haven't been able to out-physical anybody. Those are cultural things, not schematic.

Jones completely bailed out the whole team with that ridiculously athletic play. the MSU player was alone in the end zone and everything else was just a mass of destruction at the line of scrimmage. the qb would have been better served lobbing the pass.

I usually run out of dap after about 81 plays.

Did anyone else notice....MSU has the ball on our 20 with just over a minute to go and our LBs are having a little conference apparently trying to figure out what to do when MSU snapped the ball and ran an option to our 2 yd line with no LBS IN SIGHT.

All I can say is that if our season comes together that goal line stand will go down in Tiger lore as one of the all-time greats.

Lord willing we'll be telling our grand kids about it.
