While you can't dismiss the quality of the loss teams have, you also cant discount the quality of the wins. There has to be some combination of both.

One thing to note is that they aren't including the OU win in that calculation. If they beat OU, they'll have 6 top 20 and 7 top 40 wins. So in the end, OSU would have the same number of top 40 wins and 3 times as many top 20 wins as Bama.

The Cowboys were my pick before and after the poll. Glad it worked out blindly that way. Alabama's schedule strength doesn't match close to what LSU's is. Yes, they played Penn State, but that's it. They had 4 ranked teams (at the time played) and we've had 6 and now 7 with Georgia. Okie State has had Oklahoma, K State, Baylor, Tex A*M, Texas (all ranked at the time) and beaten a ULL team that is also in a bowl. Besides, we'll have beaten the best the Big East has to offer (WVU), the best in the 12 Pack, second and third best in the SEC and then it's time for the best in the Little 12/10. We need another conference to punish.....come on Big 10/12 - who ya got? Wisconsin? Come on, you can do better than that.,...oh wait, no you can't

I like how people point out that OSU have have beaten an extra decent team but ignore that fact that they lost to Iowa State. Who you lose to doesn't seem to matter.

It does matter, just shouldn't more than who you beat.
