Is it really that difficult to understand why some fans have reservations about Miles?

So ....we lose a few games because of Miles .....and win a crap load of games because of ...err... Miles? Or because of our loyal, always happy, never leave at half time fan base, or Lou Tepper or Gerry Dinardo or Nick "yes son come sign with LSU because I'm staying long term, this is the job for me Bobby Jindal" Saban ....or ... the incredible education system or lack of poverty in our date...or...wait?

I understand why some have reservations, but, for crying out loud, they act like the guy's getting a raise for consecutive losing seasons.

I know Miles ain't perfect. Guess what. $$$$$ wasn't perfect when he was here either. Remember UAB? Losing to Ole Miss the week after the Bluegrass Miracle?

Man, if someone had told us when CLM was hired that he would win over 80 percent of his games, bring us a couple of SEC titles, play for another, win a BCS title and play for another, you Negatigers would have said, "I'll take it."

Well, guess what. The man has done just that. So $$$$$ has more national titles. Boo hoo. It ain't over, fellas, and we're one win away from yet another 11-win season, something $$$$$ could only do ONCE when he was here. Y'all act like LSU will never, ever win another championship as long as $$$$$ is at Bama. What are you gonna complain about when LSU wins in T-town next season and plays in the SECCG? That we didn't win by enough points? That Miles went for it on 4th down and didn't make it, and that allowed some team to score 3 points in a lopsided LSU victory? That he chews grass or wears long sleeves at every game?

I have lived through every coach from Cholly Mac on, and, I can tell you, this is the best it's ever been, and some of you can't even enjoy it. It's just sad, truly sad.

For some reason, I have a feeling that out of Sonic Sam, Keke and Reid, two of the three will come back next season.

Let's be honest here for a second - Saban has set the bar for success. So in many of our fans eyes, if he isn't equaling Saban, somehow it's a failure. Miles is a great coach and I'm proud of our team the last few seasons, but to be fair, gouging our school for a raise b/c some other school came along and offered some exorbitant amount of money is setting a precedent.

What happens when ND or Michigan come calling next year - will Miles be worthy of yet another raise then as well? It's a slippery slope.

I like Miles I just think he underachieves. We field more talent than every team we play except Bama and he somehow manages to lose games he shouldn't -Penn State, Arkansas x3, Ole Miss x2, Florida this year, Kentucky- but I understand that sometimes good coaches lose to lesser talent but good coaches also beat teams with more talent and Miles has never came out on top against a more talented team-08/09 UF, 08/09/12 Bama.

I'm just happy when LSU goes to a bowl game.

Exactly, I remember LSU playing in the Independence Bowl back in the late 90's. shite still have the LSU/ND Pennant from that game. Now we're playing in BCS bowls, Cotton Bowl, Cap One, Chicken Bowl and usually a contender for the NC. Plus being in the Top 5/Top 10 is frickin awesome, along with Top 10 recruiting classes. The games can't always be pretty but damne we get it done. My list of priorities comes to this: 1) Winning Season, 2)SEC Championship, 3)BCSNC.

I want to win it all, I do. But I also know where we came from and where we stand now is pretty damn good. Could be worse, could be Arky or Ole Miss right now.

If Copeland hadn't fricked up against the Alabama game we would be in the BCS championship... Fact!

We lose a few games due to miles as always

We've lost five games in the past three years. So those "few games" we lose each year are due to Les Miles, right? I mean, God forbid, a player would never drop a pass or a forget his blocking assignment or slip and fall down on wet grass. I guess that's Miles' fault too.

sad thing is there are many more of the same. it's truly a shame.

I almost wish LSU would get a new HC just to show these people the aholes they are becoming.. and watch LSU become the new Tennessee of the SEC. It doesn't matter how prestige your program is.. one bad hire can set you back on a serious tailspin.

LSU is coming off a perfect regular season against the best OCC schedule of late and an SEC championship.. and so many of these dipshits at one point said they'd take Holgorsen (who lost 5 straight fricking games.. can you imagine LSU losing 5 straight the reactions?) and Petrino (who got kicked out) over Miles. The man has LSU as a consistent powerhouse football program.. in the SEC.. Don't fall for those flash in the pan coaches. No issues with Miles. Enjoy the success. It's ok

Seems like there is a thread started with this in the subject line after every season. Then reality strikes - injuries, suspensions, poor offensive production, tight wins, a poorly timed loss...rinse and repeat.

Truely agreed, with his recruiting, family and winning culture. We are in good hands,he has been very loyal to LSU and GEAUX TIGERS!

I think Miles is a good football coach. He does seem to have a mental deal that requires him to have a game come down to the last drive or last play or he's not happy. Instead of like some coaches who get absolute joy out of beating the snot out of an opponent by 4 touchdowns or more Miles seems to thrive on the close game even when it really should be a cakewalk.

I'm not talking about games like against Alabama where it's a true test of ability and coaching, but the games that LSU holds the cards in every aspect of the game and yet it comes down to the last play or drive.
