Being a season ticket holder and an avid traveler to away games - I get more and more upset that we are slowly sinking into a Bryant-Denny wannabe NFL experience. I was at the Auburn game last month and we are pumping the same exact song over the loud speaker that they did for 3rd down. What is making us succumb to this? We aren't carrying on tradition - we are losing it.

FYI - I'm not an "old-school" fan - I'm 30, but I grew up with Mike V roaring and the Tiger Band owning the game day experience. I don't want to see us blend in with the seeming majority.

The new guy is taking us further away from tradition and closer to bland mediocrity.

Is there any single person behind this transformation?

Administration is too scared of students shouting obscenities that they would rather just burn the stadium experience down to the ground.

It's not the band's fault. It's the administration. They literally tell the band when to play and when to stop.

What LouisianaLonghorn said. If you watch the band director (not the drum major) he has a headset. He gets instructions as to when to play, although he does have authority to play in specifically defined situations like first downs, etc...

Nah. I like hearing retardely loud bass followed by "get outta ya mind" before every big defensive play. Tennessee stopped using "third down for what", I think it would fit perfectly into LSU's new, whitewashed, NFL game day experience.

I like a good piped in song every now and then, but it's every damn down now.

Alabama at least plays some modern rap hits, if we're piping shite in at least make it hype music and not some old arse rap song from '05
