He declared his clear intent to come to BR in his Jr year as a Marietta HS Phenom. Gwaga knew he wasn't going there....

Which means LSU shouldn't have either...

friend of mine that's a UGA fan reminded me that they were only taking 1 QB and took a kid that was higher ranked than AJ (I know, impossible).

This is correct, UGA offered and got a commitment out of Brice Ramsey from Camden County who was higher rated in GA last year than Anthony Jennings. FWIW, I like Jennings more, but I tend to like athletic QBs who not only can throw but have great mobility. Ramsey is a pure pocket type. We'll see how Ramsey turns out, Camden County wins a bunch of games every year in GA but tends to not put much successful college talent out there.

Jennings ended up the #3 QB in GA last year, Tennessee got the #2 QB in Josh Dobbs. Jennings was pretty underrated though, as we can tell already by his rise up the depth chart.

Didn't he do us dirty in the '05 SECCG?

UGA got the QB they wanted in the same recruiting class (Brice Ramsey).

yeah, but what happened at LSU-UGA 2005 SECCG?? A game in which LSU could have played possibly for their first NC under Miles.

LSU was on their 11th straight game when we played UGA.

UGA had just had a bye three games prior. I think that had something to do with it.

True. Brice Ramsey was sort of their "Fournette" @ QB last yr. they targeted him from day 1. Once he committed, they were done. They also have former lsu recruit Christian LeMay from NC and a kid from the ATL area by the name of Hutson Mason. FYI- we didn't miss on LeMay. He looks lost when he plays. Will prob transfer. Even UGA fans will attest to this. As I posted previously, I am interested to see Jennings vs. Ramsey down the road. Comparison of career achievements. I think we "stole" one.

Richt is not a great evaluator of raw talent.

I'm under the impression that Richt promised him playing time while recruiting him and stuck with it [even if it resulted in a lose].

Outside of the NFL, I've never seen so many perfectly thrown passes to well-covered receivers. D.J. was money that night.

UGA probably did the exact same thing LSU does... you don't offer an in-state kid unless you are for sure, 100%, going to take him. And they got the one they wanted, a pure pro-style.

Nothing about that says Jennings isn't as good.

When you don't get an offer from your state SEC program, it says Georgia didn't think Jennings was SEC material at QB.

We will soon learn who made the mistake.
