Gaspard & LSU - What's the Story?

Why did Gaspard leave after the '85 season?
He was the starting 2nd baseman, so playing time doesn't seem to be the issue - did he just want to get back closer to home?

Skip let him go, he wanted Andy Galy to be the second baseman. I believe he may not have had his scholarship renewed.
