just because they dont come to LSU doesnt mean they dont go to college

nick bourgeois, wade leblanc, chris denton, ryan doiron ring a bell???

these are the best pitchers to pitch at Barbe, probably ever.

The Red Sox will spend the money. In addition to Ranaudo, I think they selected one or two of our high school recruits. I wouldn't count on them showing up at LSU.

The Dodgers are another story, though.

Not necessarily.

He's going to have to pay a good chunk of that $1.6 in taxes. Then, he'll probably have to bank most of the rest to live on while he's in the bus leagues, because they don't pay those guys jack-shite in salary there. It's not as sweet of a deal as everybody seems to think it is.

Mainieri said he knew what Cecchini number was, I wonder if this is it. Either way, he said it was pretty high for a 4th rounder and didn't think he'd get it.

Remember the 1.6 mil is a signing bonus not necessarily his salary. As far as salary in the "bus leagues" it is entirely dependent on how your contract is worked out. If the parent team believes you to be a career minor leagurer, then your right, they don't pay much. But if they believe they can bring you up quickly (within 2 or so years), it is not uncommon for those guys to make six figure incomes. News worthy money? No. But as someone said earlier, that is a pretty sizable change in income for someone raised on what teachers and coaches get paid.

Exactly how much $$$ does an 18 year old need to live on? My guess is not much. Heck most 18 yr olds probably save money from the per day food allowance.
