Like javonte smart the dude gets ragged on WAAY too much. He’s the kind of 4 year player that you want in a program. Steady improvement unselfish player.

Got to love Helter-Skelter, but he’s had some great games of late

He kept the turnovers in check tonight. Might’ve been his best floor game so far.

Gaines and Wilkinson play the hardest on 5he team from an effort standpoint from what I have seen. But it doesn't always translate how you would like but they are learning 9n the job in going balls to the wall. Can't fault em.

I'm very excited about team when we can get quality minutes and consistent scoring from Wilkinson, fudge Williams and oneal.

The team is lessoning the hard way and landing with all they have

It's like that Henry Wadesworth poem. The one with the girl who had the curl "right in the middle of her forehead".

Anyway, "when she was good, she was very very good. But, when she was bad, she was horrid."

That's Gaines.

The best thing about him developing the way has is this: when Pinson is healthy and back in the lineup Gaines is going to be a great change of pace guard. The game is totally different with him at point. One more weapon we will have.

This
Gaines is not a point guard.
He’s playing point because he has to right now, but that’s not what he does best.
He’s played his role very well, but will excel when X comes back.

First off, I love Gaines and have backed him before when people were complaining about his sometimes erratic play. He willed us to the win tonight and he is a great leader on this team.

But I have to disagree with the 100% effort constantly. Plenty times this season he has great position on defense as the opposing team is going up for a layup/dunk, and he has the tendency to bail at the last second. It happened on their late transition dunk, and again on the play he got elbowed in the head by Mwani.

If he contests the shot like Mwani expected him to, he doesn’t get elbowed. Thankfully he gave it 100% on the last possession to block the dunk, he can do that more often than he seems to think he can

Kid is making me bipolar.

Effort is awesome, Decision making is .....
Overall I think I love his game, or maybe want him on the bench.

Once the game fully slows down for Eric and he learns to change speeds when attacking he’s going to be one of the best players in the SEC. You can’t teach his athleticism, effort, and confidence.

He does that when he’s in foul trouble and was in foul trouble when he did it tonight but when we had to have it he didn’t bail, he made the play of the game.
