Discipline, Blocking and Tackling. If LSU wants to compete for and SEC chapionship next year Coach Miles better get back to the basics. It doesn't matter how much talent you have on a team. You must first master the basics in order to become a champion.

I am sick and tired of seeing our players loose their composure, especially after a routine play. They make a nice tackle, which they are trained to do and they get up from the tackle and go crazy like they just did something out of the ordinary.

We definitely had problems in all these areas this year, but I think we were more out of position and not prepared prior to games like we should have been. Fortunately, these things can be remedied. It falls on the coaches. It will be taken care of.

Personally, I want a Tenuta type (not necessarily Tenuta though) guy who comes in with guns blazing yelling/screaming and in players faces. A little of Les, a little of the other seems like it would work well to me.

i think teamwork, leadership, and chemistry was the main thing lacking this year (something you can't put a blue chip or stat on). Everyone was looking for the big Sportscenter top 10 hit and in doing so didn't play swarming team defense taking bad pursuit angles, getting out of thier assignments, missing tackles, and not staying home and covering their lanes. Unless this has been corrected a Georgia Tech type offense eats this sort of stuff up.

some leadership was lacking but defensive scheme was a huge factor and having a good gameplan in place caused the horrific downfall this season.

There is absolutely no excuse for plays coming in 5 seconds before the ball is snapped and players not knowing what the call was. They lead to a lot of confusion. Thats the players fault?

There is absolutely no excuse for players coming in mass subsituation like DL for DL, LB for LB. Then the players not knowing the call because of all the influx. I can see swapping out for a personel matchup but often it was just swapping out position for position.

totally agree on the need to get back to basics. Too many takles were missed because of poor technique. Arm tackling does not cut it in the sec. What happened to teaching players to go for the legs..Julio Jones gained an extra 5 to 10 yards on every catch because nobody went for his legs, they try to arm tackle him...cut his damn legs out from under him...

On the money. Wouldn't hurt to meet these old friends again for the Bird Bowl this year, too.

+2

You have to focus on the small things to win. Fundamentals and attention to detail must come first.
