If we can not shoot free throws and inbound the ball we have no chance. our inbound plays are as bad as a biddy team no movement at all

If LSU is unable to inbound the ball, I predict state wins 100-10

eta: Maybe 100-20. LSU should get some points off turnovers and missed shots.

People greatlyyyyyyyy exaggerate the inbound problems. It doesn't help that after 2 seconds of not finding a person the whole crowd starts yelling and booing

relax Nancy. this team has been a pretty good FT shooting team all year. I bet you didn't know that cause you haven't followed the team closely all year. Actually, I know that's the reason.

que your triumphant return to refute my claim

If you think that's bad, it hurts even worse when after 2 seconds the four LSU players on the court STILL haven't moved from their initial spots.

This is the most basketball games I've watched in any season. I would say 70% of inbound plays result in the ball throwing deep, or into the corner which is even worse. Most teams don't even run plays because from the angle, there is no reason a wide open layup should occur. Lsu tries to run complicated plays that sometimes just take too long. They aren't just not trying.

Not really. They're 10th in the SEC in FT%. Also, in conf play they only shot 66%. That's not great. This team can have nights where they shoot it well from the line, but overall I wouldn't say this is a good FT shooting team.

No, no they don't.

I will agree that we rarely get a 5 second call, and I don't know that our inbounds turnover ratio is any worse than anyone else, but I do know that we rarely score points off of the designed inbounds play. I'm talking ball thrown in, and either a quick basket with the assist from the inbounder, or a one or two pass set that results in a bucket from the designed inbounds play. The large percentage of our inbounds passes are balls lobbed back to half court, even when inbounding from under our own goal.

I can recall exactly one time that we scored a quick basket off the inbounds play. I'm pretty sure I posted about it in the game thread. It was a near lob pass for an easy layup under the goal.

One reason we struggle with inbounds plays is because we do a poor job of setting screens and running off screens. Go back to the last play against UK, I believe it was Martin that was suppose to set the screen for Hornsby, but it was a VERY poor screen. Our guards also seem to struggle with getting separation without screens.

Free throws, yeah that's just simply not getting in the gym on your own time and getting up shots.

I've never had much issue with our turnovers. Given the pace with which we play and the amount of possessions we have in a given game, we're bound to turn the ball over a bit.

My issues have always been with an apparent lack of basketball IQ almost across the board with coaches and players - shot selection, lack of awareness of the situation (shotclock, etc.), as others touched on, issues inbounding the ball, poor halfcourt zone offense, recent issues with free throws (OK that's not really basketball IQ, but still..) , etc. etc...
