who was LSUs last Heisman candidate that they failed to promote?

Well, I wouldn't say failed to promote, but they could have gotten an earlier start with Russell and Dorsey. Dorsey wouldn't have had a real shot anyway, but Russell had comparable numbers to Troy Smith that year.

CFN doesn't even mention Fournette in the discussion. Taking the stock line that whichever of 3 bodies fills the OSU QB position is the odds-on fav. Which is ridiculous.

2. Besides the Ohio State starting quarterback, who are the Heisman favorites?
The favorite is the Buckeye starting under center against Virginia Tech, but TCU’s Trevone Boykin should be a mortal lock for New York with just about everyone coming back to the high-octane offense. Dak Prescott will be on everyone preseason list, but Mississippi State isn’t as good this year. USC QB Cody Kessler and Georgia RB Nick Chubb will be in the mix, but watch out for next-men-up, Wisconsin RB Corey Clement, Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson and Baylor QB Seth Russell to all put up massive numbers. Johnson is the sneaky-good longshot pick – he’s going to be a monster for the Tigers.

Its between Fournette and Elliot. Its time for a running back to win it for a change.

Waste of money to take that bet. Splits carries with other RBs. No QB teams will load the box. Ill take the field.

Kessler would seem to have the much easier path. Lots more "sports journalists" eager to jump on a bandwagon in California and the west coast than Baton Rouge.

Sucks for Fournette that Elliot will be part of an offense that will score 70 points a game and we will put up 14 average

Agreed. A RB has to be fed like AP, Gurley and Ingram were to have a shot. 15-25 carries and at least 20 total touches to compete in my opinion.

Not saying it's impossible, because if anyone could do it, it's him.

Hill averaged 18.4 touches a game last year despite a slow start due to suspension. Averaged 20.4 in the last 10 games

Ridley averaged 20 touches a game his last year.

Ingram averaged 21.6 touches a game when he won the Heisman.

Gurley averaged 22.5.

We give our lead back the ball. Fournette's receiving abilities should hive him similar numbers

su has NO CLUE how to promote a Heisman player
Disagree with this.

He will not get enough carries in Miles offense....

Agree that LSU's running back by committee is not conducive to putting up Heisman like numbers.
