He did but that was still Dean's team. Schimpf had a very quiet awesome year, but damn that team was surrounded by stars. 5 are in the major leagues (Ranaudo, Coleman, Schimpf, Mahtook, and LeMahieu), 5 have played AAA ball (Ochinko, Nola, Ross, Landry and Mitchell), Dean retired, and even Hanover stuck around in high A ball for 4-5 years. Team was stacked

Remember when Dean and Schimpf hit back-to-back homers TWICE in one inning? That was truly awesome....

@AJCassavell: It took Ryan Schimpf 69 games to reach 18 homers -- the fastest in Padres history. Jedd Gyorko (No. 2) didn't reach 18 homers til Game 107.
