Miles rocked the boat by outright benching JL after bama.
If he had stayed with Lee, we would have won the same number of games and headed into the NC game against Alabama with Lee as QB. It would have been a repeat of November with Lee and this time Alabama would have prepared for the JJ option packages just like they did.
We weren't beating that Alabama defense with either QB in the rematch.

I agree. I would have liked to have seen something different than what I saw for 4 quarters with an inept JJ. No creativity, no wrinkles, nothing different than what we did against them the first time. They way outclassed us in coaching.

They both sucked to a degree, Lee & JJ, and they undeniably both sucked in 2011 against Bama. Other than that D, why?
Because Les Miles ONLY prepares QB's to run LSU's offense.
He does NOT prepare QBs for an opponent.
Those are two completely different things.
It's the same mentality we saw with playcalling... we're gonna do what we do and that should be good enough. Or, if you prefer, the lack of adjustments. Or, if you prefer, his definition of "hot hand" with running backs (when they would inexplicably disappear from games). All symptom of the same thing.
