Almost half of the fans at every home game travel to Tiger Stadium from outside Baton Rouge, and those visitors inject nearly $10 million into the local economy each home weekend.

Wonder what the numbers are for the Furman-type home games compared to a quality opponent?

Why would you repeat that? Next season, the new SEC Network will bring in millions,

Maybe, maybe not according to Joe. It brings about much uncertainty.

UNCERTAINTY OF THE FUTURE
As you may know, the SEC will launch in August 2014 its own TV network that has the potential to generate significant revenue for each school in our conference. However, none of us know at this time exactly what kind of impact the SEC Network will make since it has not yet been sold to cable providers. We have made a $2 million investment in the network, and we are hopeful it will provide substantial benefits.

If polled, the majority of season ticket holders would prefer big games to be played in Tiger Stadium rather than Houston or Dallas. Anyone disagree? Local businesses (if this report is accurate) would clearly prefer it.

I think there should be a balance. The idea of opening up every year in Atlanta or Dallas is good for the national promotion of the LSU brand and allows LSU to play a variety of interesting OOC opponents. The down side is it can lead to fan fatigue if LSU has a potential bowl game in the same city a few months later.

I would love a little bit of balance. Playing a great OOC team to start the year in a neutral site is good for the LSU product and brand name. But the fans deserve an interesting OOC opponents at home too so it would be great if the administration can make that happen.

Never thought I'd see the day when LSU football was more valuable than Meeeeechegan. tOSU, OU, USC. Nebraska, & every SEC team but Bammer.

AND, LSU does it way better than most programs do it. I will take our coaches methods over nearly all of the other top programs out there.

Holy shite that's a %64 profit margin! That's unheard of in general business, very impressive.

Not bad, especially when considering that Bama had 9,000 more seats available in Bryant-Denny to sell PER GAME than LSU had. LSU's ticket prices must be a lot more than Bama's right now to pull off having more revenue...and Alleva says that he needs to raise ticket prices next year "just to keep up" with Bama when they are already making more money with the smaller stadium. Next year, LSU will have a similar-sized stadium, as well as a cut from the SEC Network--should be raking in a heck of a lot more money then.

Greatest business plan ever. Get a bunch of employees (players) to work for free and make millions! I’d like to see what the NCAA is worth.
