Via the SC ticket people:

quote:

[3:46:10 PM] We understand your concern about the tickets for the LSU game. As the announcement was just made, the game has been moved to be played in Baton Rouge, LA. If you had tickets purchased for this game you have three options;

1. Donate face value of ticket(s) to the Athletics Department
2. Apply value of your ticket(s) towards future ticket purchases or Gamecock Club Memberships
3. Request to have a refund check mailed to you for the face value of your ticket(s)

You will receive an email shortly detailing these options and will need to follow the steps within that email to officially request which option you would like to proceed with.

[3:47:44 PM] You will need to contact that third party vendor that you purchased them from.

LSU gave this option for the Arizona St. game in 2005.

I was actually surprised they didn't put that out as an option for the McNeese St. debacle.

Terrible year for the ticket office, first dealing with the McNeese mess and now this.

Figured as much. I bought one as an away game ticket through LSU and can't go to BR. I'm assuming I should just call the LSU ticket office and try to get a refund through them?

if it said

1. Donate face value of ticket(s) to the Recovery Effort

I feel like that would be a much better idea

I understand that they're losing like 3.5 million in revenue from the game not being played like normal, but asking for some Athletic Department money when there's an ongoing tragedy where people are losing their homes seems a bit callous.

From the donation and the ticket sales from LSU, South Carolina ought to make out like bandits on this deal. Concessions at LSU will make a ton of money especially with a day game and the heat going back up.

Well did you expect them to refund you money when you bought them from StubHub or Billy Bob?

Actually ... I am giving them back to the person that I got them from.

But ...was trying to get the "gouge" on how that person could get their money back.

I am not out a dime ... and other than disappointment for my kids ... I don't give a rat's arse about the game being moved.

I feel sorry for my buddy who spent $600 on a plane ticket to come here ... but, at least he has a free place to stay and free food/booze.
