Sophomores can declare for the draft if they redshirted. Why people don't know this yet is beyond me.

Isn't it easier to simply say "3 years out of HS"?

Welcome to the site where people bitch about the backup QB getting more snaps on a 13-0 SEC championship team playing for the crystal.

Really? Are you sure? I don't think sophomores can declare in football. Only basketball and lacrosse. Post a link or gtfo.

Just kiddin. Like black heli said, 3 years out of hs. I also agree with the guy that suggested they should rule by age.

Yes, but since this is officially "the last time" it's irrelevant now, isn't it Mr. Smartypants?

I think Freshman can declare, under certain circumstances. While an athlete can delay entering for a religious mission, peace corps or military service, the rules about declaring for the draft are tied to the high school graduating year. I'm not sure how likely it is to ever happen, but people forget how complicated the rules of the NCAA/NFL can be for relatively simple issues like this.

Want to have some real fun. Start a thread asking about the official rule regarding players being able to play a few downs and can still redshirt.
