For real now, what about Gary Patterson

He has a history of teams with good defense, it feels like ever since he has been at TCU he has been on the outside looking in so might be looking to go to a team that is respected enough to effectively have an automatic bid if they win there conference championship, plus he took TCU from being a team that was on the level of the likes of Houston and made them a contender year in year out. Just saying

He has been offered by others just as big as LSU and he hasn't moved yet. I would like Patterson, but he seems quite content where he is at.

I think that the way this year is shaking out might make him leave. They weren't even in the top 4 when they were still undefeated.

Maybe, but why would he have gone there? Texas is putting their head coach on the chopping block after 2 years in which the only thing that he messed up was that he bet on swoopes and he turned out bad.

Because he would be going to a team that has a legit chance of winning next year which Strong didn't have. There is a reason that that was the best coach Texas could get.

He is tied to the Ft. Worth area due to family. TCU is now in a P5 conference and will have opportunities to compete for a NC if he keeps recruiting up.

look I like Patterson, I just don't think it is likely he would come to LSU
Charlie Strong was the hot coach 2 years ago. Lets not act like he was some B class coach that Texas had to settle with way down their list.
