This is not news. The UF faculty Senate sets the calendar. We voted months ago to set homecoming at the LSU game. The original date did not work for reasons I now forget. We had two options, but the other was too late in the semester in the opinion of most senators.
The athletic department said they wanted the other, later game, but the Senate voted otherwise. Not sure why it was announced now: it's been set for quite awhile.
I voted to have LSU as homecoming. Geaux Tigers.

I've been told by a UF friend that the Gator baseball team will receive their baseball national championship rings at halftime. I'm sure he's just trolling me though.
