Coming down to BR for my first baseball series with my wife, end of April against bama. Would love any recs/advice TD has. Specifically:

- Where/when to buy tickets
- Best places to sit in the stadium
- Where to eat/drink/stay
- Tailgates?
- Anything else you got for me!

Where to sit: Grandstands with seatbacks.

Where to eat/stay: My personal opinion here but the Clarion in Gonzales is great. Mike Andersons is attached to the hotel and offers some of the best seafood (especially oysters) in town. Don't bother, however, with the Mike Andersons close to campus.

Doesn't the entire stadium have seatbacks, even the bleacher sections?

If this team is as good as it’s supposed to be, options may be limited on good seats when we get into the SEC schedule.
My favorite seats are behind the dugout, but I’ve only ever sat there once.

You're going to have to stubhub it. Sections 206-218 have individual seats and a roof over your head. For day games, this is a great option to get out of the sun. All of the other seats are bench seating but they do have a back support. Right field can be mostly students. Sections 201 and 223 can be good if you want to send your kids down to the playground area and watch them and the game at the same time. Pick Seat # 1#2 to be on the end.

Plan to eat at a restaurant in BR. Snack/beer in the stadium because it's standard fair (burger, hot dog, nachos, etc).

Best places to eat in BR: Parain's, Louisiana Lagniappe, and Juban's ($$$) all three are in S BR on Perkins Road.

2nd tier in BR: Little Village (downtown or on S Airline Hwy) Gino's just off College Drive. Both are Italian/Seafood places and are very good.

Lots of smaller places with good food in BR. IMO, BR has the best restaurants for a small city.

Stay in BR. Nicest hotel in BR is the Renaissance. I would stay at Courtyard on Acadian and I-10 as it has easy access to LSU and thre best eats.

State law requires that you post a thread here to complain about the boomers that never stand, the K lady, the advertising, and the concessions.

A) try the ticket exchange the week of the game if you're willing to test your luck but people always have tickets they're selling.

B)Anywhere in the grandstands, or down the lines are great views

C) depends on your budget and plans for the night. If you're into gambling I always recommend going to the Lauberge steakhouse, dressing decent, having a good meal, and gambling with the missus. Tons of hotels, bars, and restaurants downtown if the Casino isn't your thing. Stroube's is a good steak spot and Tsunami is a great sushi spot downtown BR. Then of course theres Walkons-Torchys right by the stadium for a quick bite before/after the game.

D) Tailgates are hit or miss but usually set up around the parking lots in the stadium. Post here the week before and you'll likely get an invite to pre-game especially if you're visiting from out of town.

Just show up near the Box a few hours before the game. You don’t find tailgates, they find you

Don't stand up and scream out the lyrics to the songs that are played when the visiting team takes the field. Apparently, it's supposed to be psychological warfare designed to neuter the opposition's mentality.

Oh....and hit up the HOF under the grandstand to view precious LSU Baseball relics and artifacts....LSU Dairy Store on campus for some of their homemade "Tiger Bite" ice cream....Louie's for hashbrowns/breakfast any time of day,,,, and the Chime's at the gates of LSU for beer guzzling pregame.
